Guidelines for Weekly Email Submissions

Policy for Emails: 

The Bar will respect the time and inbox space limitations of its membership, as well as the privacy of those who provide Email addresses to it.

Guidelines:

  • Emails from the Bar to membership should not exceed one per week. 
  • The Bar is required to provide its list of member Email addresses to anyone who requests the list, according to the law.
  • The content by any one submitter may not exceed 6, 6.5-inch-wide lines in 11-point font.  Use of fully functional links to fast-loading web pages formed in widely-used softwares/applications is strongly encouraged, in lieu of lengthy content.
  • Content fitting all requirements must be received by the deadline provided by editor (Fridays at noon), who along with the Publications Committee has final editorial control over whether content meets requirements.  Editorial control will be a secondary means of assuring the relevance of content to the practices and lives of a meaningful number of Bar members.
  • Content not fitting requirements may be omitted without prior notice to submitter, but editor will make reasonable efforts to notify submitter that omission is intended.
  • Content must communicate the following categories of information in this order:  "what", "when" [if an event], "who", "where" including a link to directions [if an event], "why/how/purpose". The editor will inform submitters of these requirements, ask them to arrange their submission to meet the requirements, and give a deadline for receipt of same.
  • Content must be in complete sentences, without bullet points or numbers.
  • Your deadline for submissions fitting these requirements is Friday by noon, in advance of the week in which you want the submission to appear.
